As Chief Financial Officer, Tom Leyden is responsible for all financial matters at SDG, including securing financing for new and ongoing projects, financial reporting, compliance and managing relationships with investors and banks. Tom supports capital raising for new projects and oversees the finance and accounting department. He is also responsible for overseeing the company’s insurance programs and risk management.
Prior to joining Signature Development, Tom served as Chief Financial Officer at Maximus Real Estate Partners, where he worked for 5 years. At Maximus, Tom oversaw the financial management of the company’s 4,500 owner managed units. In addition, Tom worked closely with the company’s banks, lenders, and investors to service existing investments and to develop new opportunities.
Prior to Maximus, Tom was with RSM US LLP for 17 years, serving real estate, private equity and construction clients in New York, Boston, and San Francisco. Tom was also the lead partner of the firm’s west coast real estate practice.
Tom holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Binghamton University.
